History & Milestones

Four decades of excellence and growth

1979

Discovery of Tengiz Field

The first well gave oil from presalt formation at depth of 4045-4095 meters. Drilling operations expanded across the field with over 100 wells drilled.

1985

Tengizneftegas Formed

Production Association established to develop the giant field, marking the beginning of organized development operations.

1991

Tengiz Oilgas Complex Launched

Crude oil delivered to plant complex for treatment from H₂S and admixtures. Tengiz oilgas complex started operations.

1993

Joint Venture Formed

Signing of agreement establishing our company to develop the field. A new era of partnership and growth began.

2001

CPC Pipeline Launched

Pipeline put into operation for transportation of crude to oil stations of the Black Sea port, opening new export routes.

2008

Second Generation Plant

SGP/SGI complex commissioned - the largest innovation project worth $7 billion, doubling production capacity.

2020

2021
